What is C2S art paper?
C2S is coated two sides: a mineral coating applied to both faces of the sheet. It is the standard construction for art paper, so both sides of a brochure or magazine page print identically. C1S, coated one side, is a different sheet used where only the printed face matters — chromo label stock is the common example. If a specification says C2S, it is asking for art paper.
What is the difference between art paper and chromo paper?

Can you write on art paper?
Not easily. The coating that holds ink on the surface for printing also stops a ballpoint or fountain pen being absorbed, so writing smudges and takes a long time to dry, and pencil skids on gloss. For anything filled in, signed or stamped, specify an uncoated sheet such as maplitho, or ask for a matt coated stock, which takes writing better than gloss does.
